About the show
A vibrant little wall in a vibrant little cafe in a vibrant corner of our vast city pays tribute to the ways we’ve navigated our world and ourselves in the unusual times that have unfolded around us.
In wonder, in yearning, in grief. With our bodies and souls on the line. Bravely, anxiously, with humor and with heart.
This exhibit, now in its second year, is a small but mighty celebration of the power and beauty of South Brooklyn’s people.
Thank you to our hosts and friends at Liebre Cafe and to all the artists for sharing their creativity.
All proceeds from art sales in this show will support these local artists as well as the South Brooklyn Mutual Aid Community Fund, which goes directly to free food for our neighbors, baby supplies for new parents and resources for asylum-seeking families recently arriving in Brooklyn.
South Brooklyn Mutual Aid is a group of neighbors who banded together in the early days of the pandemic. We operate on a model of solidarity not charity - we each have something to gain and something to give in our collective pursuit of justice and community care.
